Sample answer
Some people believe that children's leisure activities should always be educational and that other activities are a waste of time. I disagree with this opinion because children need both educational and recreational activities for their overall development.
=====
Firstly, educational activities during free time can be very beneficial for children. Activities such as reading books, solving puzzles, learning a musical instrument, or watching educational programmes can improve their knowledge and skills. These activities can also develop creativity, problem-solving abilities, and concentration. For example, a child who reads storybooks regularly can improve their vocabulary and imagination. Therefore, educational leisure activities can support children's academic and personal growth.
=====
However, I believe that non-educational activities are also important and should not be considered a waste of time. Children need time to relax, have fun, and develop social and physical skills. Playing outdoor games, drawing, listening to music, or spending time with friends can reduce stress and improve their physical and emotional well-being. For instance, when children play football or cricket with their friends, they learn teamwork and communication while enjoying themselves. Thus, leisure time does not always have to provide direct educational benefits.
=====
In conclusion, I disagree that children's leisure activities must always be educational. Although educational activities are useful, recreational activities are equally important because they help children relax, stay healthy, develop social skills, and enjoy their childhood. A healthy balance between learning and entertainment is the best approach.
